My name is Johnny Arena and I am proud to be running to represent the Second Franklin district in the Massachusetts General Court.
Born in Greenfield and raised in Gill, Western Mass has shaped a large part of who I am today. I have had the great fortune of growing up running through our fields, hiking our hills, and fishing our rivers. The values of family, hard work, and love for community that are so prominent in this area have been instilled in me by my parents and neighbors.
I am incredibly proud of our part of the Commonwealth and what it stands for, which is why it breaks my heart to see the empty storefronts that dot our main streets. Not only do I feel that we deserve better, I think we are capable of more. Because of the impressive resolve of our people, we have been able to hang on throughout the economic hardships we have endured over the years, but now it is time get back on top.
I plan on bringing the values of our district to Boston. If elected, I will relentlessly fight for each and every one of us, and show the state house what we here in Western Massachusetts can do.
Stimulate and revitalize our local economies by welcoming new industries, and helping existing ones maintain financial viability.
Improving our local broadband infrastructure in order to provide stronger and more reliable internet service to our people and businesses.
Ensure the strength and effectiveness of our local public schools by making sure they are well funded and providing academic services that will benefit their students for their lives ahead.
Continue the great work that has been being done in helping our areas cope with the difficulties of the opioid epidemic.
